Job Title: Instrument Fitter
Job Description

Instrument fitters are responsible for bending and installing stainless steel tubing onto skids. This role requires precision and expertise in handling various types of tubing and understanding system flows.

Responsibilities

  • Run pneumatic tubing efficiently and accurately.
  • Complete the layout of tubing on skids, ensuring alignment and fit.
  • Run tubing to end devices, maintaining quality and precision.
  • Bend tubing ranging from 1/4 to 1/2 inch in thickness.
  • Read and interpret General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
  • Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks as required.
  • Read and understand blueprints to execute tasks.
  • Familiarity with different types of tubing and their applications.
  • Possess knowledge of end devices and their functions.
  • Understand system flow and ensure optimal tubing performance.
  • Perform necessary testing of tubing to meet quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in instrumentation and fitting.
  • Expertise in tubing and stainless steel work.
  • Ability to execute layouts and read blueprints.
  • 2-3 years of experience in bending steel.
  • Experience with pneumatic tubing.
  • Experience installing tubing on skids.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have experience crawling around and installing in tight spaces.

Work Environment

The work will primarily be conducted in an assembly shop characterized by clean floors, organized spaces, and open bay doors. The environment is active with forklifts and overhead cranes in operation, and 18-wheelers entering the shop. There is no air conditioning, so comfort with temperature variations is necessary. Flexibility to work at different locations as needed is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
