Job Title: Order Picker
Location: Gastonia, NC
Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Job Summary

The Order Picker is responsible for accurately locating, retrieving, and preparing products for shipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role ensures that all items are verified, scanned, and packed correctly, while maintaining safety, organization, and efficiency throughout the picking process. Attention to detail and adherence to procedures are essential for success in this role.

Essential Functions

• Locate and retrieve the correct products from designated warehouse locations
• Use RF scanners to accurately scan items and verify quantities
• Inspect items for damage and ensure proper packing in designated boxes
• Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and dollies as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficiency and safety
• Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to resolve issues and ensure order accuracy
• Perform all duties in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail
• Assist with staging and preparing products for shipment, including pallet building and labeling
• Support inventory management by reporting discrepancies, damaged items, or low stock to supervisors
• Participate in cycle counts, inventory audits, and product replenishment activities as needed
• Help unload incoming shipments and verify received products against packing lists
• Communicate effectively with team members to prioritize orders and ensure timely fulfillment
• Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures at all times
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to meet business and operational needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous warehouse, picking, or fulfillment experience is a plus but not required
• Experience using RF scanners and warehouse equipment preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a fast-paced setting

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials within the warehouse. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate warehouse equipment as necessary.

Work Environment

The work environment is a warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment, moderate noise, and varying temperatures. The position operates in a fast-paced, production-driven environment where accuracy, safety, and efficiency are critical. Overtime, extended hours, weekends, or peak-season schedules may be required based on business needs.
