Patient Reception Specialist Harbor Health is looking for skilled Patient Reception Specialists (PRS's) to become a member of our team. The Patient Reception Specialist is responsible for providing patient support and communication and facilitating an exceptional patient experience to build and reinforce satisfaction, and trust and drive organizational loyalty. Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their appointment, the Patient Reception Specialist informs patients of relevant and required information for their visit and provides clear communication around the services they are scheduled to receive. Position Duties & Responsibilities This role will be responsible for: Providing initial customer service to all patients including but not limited to, greeting patients, scheduling and confirming patient appointments using a multi-line phone, performing data entry into the electronic medical record system for patient information, and creating patient files Quickly answering or properly referring questions Notifying providers of patient arrivals Providing conflict resolution and responding to patient grievances Creating and maintaining confidential patient files and records, filing accordingly Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders Floating to other facilities as needed and required Facilitating patient check-in and check-out. Explain payment options. Collecting and posting patient payments; prepare deposits and follow established cash handling procedures Completing patient intakes, and conducting insurance verifications and authorizations All other duties as assigned Desired Professional Skills & Experience High school diploma or GED Minimum of six (6) months of experience working in a professional administrative or related capacity Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with Physicians, other medical professionals, office personnel employees and patients Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Google Suite Organization and time management skills Physical Requirements of the role include: Working rotating shifts Physically demanding, moderate-stress environment Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, and repetitive motions Pushing and pulling heavy objects Full range of body motion including handling and lifting clients Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing Additional Skills & Experiences Preferred include: Bilingual English/Spanish Experience What We Offer Collaborative and dynamic work environment An organization made of people who are passionate about changing the healthcare landscape Competitive salary and benefits package Professional development and growth opportunities A transparent and unique culture Harbor Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
