Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for overseeing all site operations including Production, Facilities, Quality, Materials, Logistics, HR, and Safety. The Plant Manager ensures that products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while supporting broader operational strategies and performance goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead production planning and line build schedules with active, daily involvement in scheduling adjustments based on material availability and labor needs.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor and support consistent communication, including weekly planning meetings with production leadership and daily briefings with line supervisors.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with line-level and leadership employees by engaging directly with frontline teams and informal team leaders.
  • Encourage transparent communication and support Supervisors and Production Managers in leading their areas without speaking for them—be a partner and an active listener.
  • Remove operational barriers and secure needed resources to support line-level success.
  • Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Oversee and manage plant-level financial performance, including full P&L responsibility, cost management, and budget optimization through data-driven decision-making.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

  • Drive financial success of the facility by managing budgets, collaborating with finance teams, and aligning operational decisions with business objectives.
  • Work closely with Production Managers and Supervisors to meet manufacturing goals related to output, quality, cost, and safety.
  • Participate in annual forecasting and plant budgeting efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements; recommend capital investments as needed.
  • Monitor and develop team performance, provide coaching and feedback, and ensure employee accountability through partnership with HR.
  • Enforce quality standards and ensure plant-wide quality remains a top priority.
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all workplace safety standards.
  • Take on other responsibilities or special projects as needed to support company goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a diverse team.
  • Experience working in high-growth manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and data analytics is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and accountability.
  • Comfortable promoting a culture of ownership and high employee engagement.
  • Understanding of plant-level financials, budgeting, and performance metrics.
  • Practical experience applying Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high performance across safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
