Job Description

We are looking for a Freelance Raw Materials Manager for a top fashion company in New York, New York. This is a hybrid position based out of the New York office, 3 days onsite and 2 days working remotely per week. 6+month contract.

• Hourly pay rate $45-47/hour based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Support RM Director to create and maintain seasonal raw material portfolios.
• Monitor developments, troubleshoot issues and facilitate solutions when possible. Closely communicate with manager and Hub teams / mills to resolve any issues / delays and minimize quality problems.
• Gather and review fabric submits, FDS sheets, and test reports.
• Maintain physical fabric records, presentation boards, and digital database / PLM / Centric.
• Assess and call-out high risk fabric developments as part of Stage 1 risk assessment.
• Daily communication with cross-functional teams, overseas mills, .
• Work closely with Sourcing team in order to deliver timely proto & salesman samples.
• Check all fabric details for correct quality, finish, and color prior to ordering bulk.
• Other related duties / special projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with raw materials sourcing or development.
• Must have fabric or textile background experience.
• Technical experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Textiles, Design, or related field strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required.
• Basic technical understanding of textiles required.
• Web PLM preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Deadline-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accuracy.
