This travel opportunity places you within a highly respected adult psychiatric setting, caring for adults aged 18-65 with a broad spectrum of mental health diagnoses. As you collaborate with experienced professionals and navigate a variety of clinical situations, you'll expand your clinical expertise through exposure to diverse treatment approaches and leadership styles.


This 30-bed adult psych unit is dedicated to providing compassionate care for patients with needs ranging from mood disorders and dual diagnoses to acute medical issues, such as IV care and diabetes management. Engaging with new clinical challenges and a multidisciplinary team, you'll strengthen your clinical versatility and build an impressive resume for your future in psychiatric nursing.


Schedule / Hours

• 36 hours per week
• Rotating shifts required for day and evening (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a)
• Every other weekend rotation
• Floating to similar units as needed

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license and AHA BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with automatic medication dispensing systems (Omni Cell)
• Skilled in psychotropic medications and their effects
• Experience with admissions, discharges, and charge nurse responsibilities
• Competency with IV pumps and diabetic patient care
• Experience navigating EPIC for electronic charting strongly preferred

Role Responsibilities

• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:7-8, delivering safe, compassionate care
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer and monitor psychotropic medications, assess side effects
• Provide therapeutic communication and crisis intervention
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families
