Union Welder

1st Shift | $22–$28/hour

We’re hiring a Union Welder for a 1st‑shift opportunity in a job‑shop manufacturing environment . This role is primarily focused on MIG and flux‑core welding , with the opportunity to develop TIG welding skills over time. You’ll work on a variety of custom fabrication projects in a stable, team‑oriented shop.

• Perform MIG and flux‑core welding on stainless and carbon steel components
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to meet job specifications
• Weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead)
• Work with material thicknesses ranging from ¼” to ¾”
• Assist with basic fabrication tasks, including fitting and prep work
• Follow established safety, quality, and union work practices
• Work alongside a team of skilled welders to complete custom projects
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment
• Adapt to different jobs and work orders as projects change

• 3+ years of MIG or flux‑core welding experience or a formal welding certification
• Experience welding stainless and carbon steel
• Strong ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
• Comfortable welding in all positions
• Experience working with steel from ¼” to ¾” thick
• Basic fabrication skills to support welding and assembly
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs as part of daily work
• Strong attention to detail and pride in high‑quality welds
• Able to work well in a small, team‑based job shop

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverdale, IL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Riverdale,IL.
