Post Operative Care Unit (PACU) Summary

 

• 22 bed Phase I & Phase II PACU
• Variety of Post-Op patients (Ortho & neuro surgery, OB/GYN, Plastics, Gender Affirmation, Robotics, everything except open heart and transplant cases)
• Excellent teamwork and fun environment
• Lower turnover
• Part of our state-of-the-art surgical pavilion, which opened in 8/2020

 

General Summary of Position

• Member of the MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team
• Supports and collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DON) in providing leadership and oversight for the OR
• Directs and coordinates the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based professional and support personnel
• 15-20 direct reports
• Assists DON with time cards, annual and mid-year reviews, schedules, huddles/meetings, bed needs, staff collaboration
• Direct relationship with anesthesia team and surgeons
• Schedule: Full Time Days, five 8s or four 10s, Monday - Friday

 

Qualifications

 

• BSN from an accredited School of Nursing required; MSN preferred.
• 3-5+ years of PACU RN experience required; 2 years of leadership/management experience strongly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). ACLS preferred.

This position has a hiring range of : USD $52.50 - USD $77.63 /Hr.
